The HiMSEN Engine is a medium-speed engine developed independently by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries after more than a decade of research and was first introduced in South Korea in 2000. While large engines drive the ships propellers, medium engines are responsible for electricity generation within the ships, equipped with generators at the end of the engine.
